Silver Surfer #2

The cover tagline says it all — "Anywhere and Everywhere, Hang On!" — and Michael Allred delivers on that promise with a dizzying aerial view of the Silver Surfer in the grip of a massive rocky creature looming over a city far below, while two young women ride the cosmic surfboard above the chaos. The sheer sense of motion and scale Allred brings to this image, with Laura Allred's bold amber-and-gold coloring making that enormous stony form feel genuinely imposing, is a perfect snapshot of the wild, wide-universe energy Dan Slott has brought to this series. Issue #2 of this 2016 run makes a strong case that the Surfer's adventures are anything but solitary.
