The chrome gleam of the Silver Surfer streaks across a star-filled cosmos on this January 1989 cover, his board cutting through space as he lunges toward the flame-wreathed Firelord — and the header says it all: "vs. Firelord!" Ron Lim's pencils (inked by Joe Rubinstein) capture both cosmic heavyweights mid-clash, with Firelord's fiery staff and blazing form creating a vivid contrast against the Surfer's cool, reflective silver. With Steve Englehart writing and Ron Lim on interior art, "Playing with Matches" promises a collision of two of Marvel's most powerful cosmic forces.
