Silent Hill: Dying Inside #1

This first issue from IDW and Konami plunges readers into the oppressive dread of Silent Hill with a cover by Ashley Wood that perfectly sets the tone — a solitary figure, rendered in ghostly sepia and smeared charcoal strokes, gazes upward into an unseen abyss while what appears to be a weapon hangs loosely at their side. Wood's painterly, almost dissolving linework makes the character feel like they're already fading into the fog. With Scott Ciencin writing and Ben Templesmith handling interior art, inks, and colors, this 2004 series brings some serious creative firepower to one of horror's most unsettling settings.
