About this Collection

This volume collects the earliest issues of DC's romance comic Young Love, reprinting stories from the late 1960s and early 1970s in the black-and-white, budget-friendly Showcase Presents format. Featuring tales of young couples navigating love, heartbreak, and relationships, the book showcases the work of artists and writers who defined the romance genre for DC during that era. It's a comprehensive look at a lesser-known corner of the publisher's Silver and Bronze Age output.

In "No Cure for Love!", a 2012 Showcase Presents: Young Love special, Mary finds herself drawn to the enigmatic new intern Dr. Swift—only to be met with cold indifference. When staff psychiatrist Dr. Malcolm intervenes with a surprising twist, the tension between them unravels in a moment that leaves both shaken and honest. Written by Robert Kanigher and illustrated by John Romita, with cover art by John Romita, this heartfelt tale captures the quiet, magnetic pull of first attraction and the courage it takes to admit it.

When Mary meets new intern Dr. Swift, she is immediately attracted to him, but he ignores her at every opportunity. Dr. Malcolm, a staff psychiatrist, sees Mary's longing and hypnotizes Dr. Swift into kissing her, which leads to the young intern confessing that he too was attractied, but was afraid that romance would distract him from his work.
