Young Love #42

Mar 1964 · DC · 0.12 USD
“Boys Are Fools!”

In "Boys Are Fools!", Phyllis finds herself caught between her sister Jayne’s harsh views on romance and her own more open-minded approach. When Jayne’s rejected suitor asks Phyllis out, she enjoys their date—only to spark a surprising twist when Jayne tries to reclaim him. John Rosenberger’s expressive art and Ira Schnapp’s crisp lettering bring the emotional beats to life, while John Romita’s cover captures the tension with flair. A 12-cent slice of 1964 teen drama with heart and humor.

Phyllis's older sister Jayne believes that the only way to deal with boys is to reject them as cruelly as possible, but Phyllis isn't convinced. When one of Jayne's castoffs asks her out, she has a great time with him until Jayne finds out and wants him back. Drama ensues, but Phyllis wins in the end.
