Showcase Presents: The Flash #1

It showcases the introduction of Barry Allen as the new Scarlet Speedster, along with classic rogues and the eventual team-up with the Golden Age Flash, Jay Garrick.
In "The Rival Flash!", the Flash finds himself captured and stripped of his powers after being forced to inhale the toxic by-product of hard water gasses. With his speed gone, a mysterious masked figure steps in, claiming the mantle of the Flash—but with a very different agenda.
In "Mystery of the Human Thunderbolt!", Barry Allen's life changes in an instant when a lab accident with chemicals and lightning grants him super-speed, transforming him into the Flash—inspired by the 1940s comic hero of the same name. Now, with his new powers and a costume that echoes his heroic past, he must confront a bizarre new threat: the Turtle Man, known as "The Slowest Man Alive."
In "The Man Who Broke the Time Barrier!", a criminal sentenced to exile in the distant future is accidentally sent back to the 20th century due to a malfunctioning time device—only to be captured by the Flash, who must now confront a threat from the past that shouldn't exist.
In the fog-drenched streets of Central City, a colossal mystery box materializes out of nowhere, drawing the city’s attention like a beacon. While authorities scramble to uncover its secrets, a trio of thieves slips through the chaos, striking at will—leaving only the Flash to untangle the real mystery behind the empty box and the crimes it’s hiding.
In "The Coldest Man on Earth!", the Flash races against time to stop Captain Cold, a criminal who weaponizes extreme cold with a freeze-gun to freeze his targets and craft deceptive ice mirages. With his speed matched only by his wits, Flash must cut through the illusions to confront the villain before the city freezes over.
In "Menace of the Super-Gorilla!", Barry Allen races to unravel a mystery when his friend Fred Pearson starts blacking out at the same time a strange gorilla terrorizes Central City. With a super-sonic vehicle leaving Flash in the dust and a dangerous mind heist underway, Barry teams up with Solovar to stop Gorilla Grodd’s plan before it’s too late.
In "The Pied Piper of Peril!", Barry Allen finds himself caught between a rare on-time dinner date with Iris and an urgent call to stop the self-acclaimed Master of Sound, the Piper, whose eerie melodies are turning the city's streets into a symphony of chaos. With his speed and wits tested like never before, Barry must outpace both the music and the mayhem before the night spirals completely out of control.
In "Meet Kid Flash!", young Wally West visits Aunt Iris and meets the Flash, only for a lab accident involving mysterious chemicals to grant him super speed. Now a new hero, Wally takes on his first mission when a group of escaped zoo animals causes chaos in Central City.
In "King of the Beatniks!", Jo finds herself caught in a whirlwind when her classmate Jimmy King flees after being falsely accused of cheating, only to vanish into the underground world of the Beatnik Gang. With Jimmy’s cousin leading the gang and the city on edge, Kid Flash must navigate the underground scene to rescue him before the chaos spirals out of control.
