About this Collection
This volume collects the earliest adventures of the Super Friends, reprinting material from the 1970s Super Friends comic series that was based on the popular animated TV show. It features the classic team of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and the Wonder Twins, along with their monkey sidekick Gleek, as they tackle threats in a family-friendly style. Presented in DC's black-and-white Showcase Presents format, this collection offers a nostalgic look at the Silver Age-inspired team-ups that introduced many young readers to the Justice League's core heroes.
In "The Fury of the Super Foes," the Super Friends assist a mysterious woman in reclaiming what she claims are her ancestral relics—only to find themselves battling monstrous forces and uncovering a far more complex truth. Written by E. Nelson Bridwell and illustrated by Ramona Fradon with inks by Bob Smith, this 2014 Showcase Presents issue delivers a classic team-up with a twist, all wrapped in a striking cover by Alex Toth.
