The Tombstone Sheriff confronts Tommy about his absence and learns that Tommy has partnered with Jeff Colley, a man the Sheriff distrusts, leading to tension about Colley's intentions. A reward is offered for information on a fugitive who robbed the Tucson stage six months prior and shot a guard, prompting the Sheriff to track down leads at the livery stable. Jam Chaney and his gang attempt to ambush the Sheriff during a confrontation at a gambling house, but the Sheriff manages to overcome them and asserts his authority over the troublemakers in town. The issue also includes a text story titled "Charlie Goes to Chicago," recounting Charles A. Siringo's western adventures including cattle drives, encounters with Native American tribes, and frontier expeditions.
