Sheena, Queen of the Jungle #14
In "The Hoodoo Beasts of Mozambique," young Kalo faces a grim trial at the Kipembawe Kraal, forced to prove his manhood by slaying a savage beast—though he has no desire to do so. With his rival Darjil plotting to ensure his downfall, Kalo is sent into the wild, where fate and a fearsome lion named Simba test his courage and change the tribe’s ancient ways. Written by Ed Hunt and illustrated by Richard Case, with a cover by Maurice Whitman, this 1951 tale from Fiction House blends coming-of-age tension with the raw power of the African wild.
