After being critically wounded Warren finds himself in a wintery place feeling cold, alone, and lost. He wanders aimlessly until he finds someplace to rest. He awakes to find that Alice has been looking out for him. They talk and he proceeds to think on his past which leads to a journey of self discovery. Ultimately he confronts and overcomes his younger self. Meanwhile the Shadow has also been watching over Warren, but in the hospital where Warren is actually recovering from his stab wound. Shen has tracked both Warren and the Shadow to the hospital.
