Sergio Aragonés Groo the Wanderer #81

Part two of "The Legend of Thaais" arrives in this September 1991 Epic Comics entry, with Sergio Aragonés both writing and drawing every panel — cover included. The cover finds the wide-eyed, bracelet-laden Groo dominating the foreground, fist raised and an arrow clenched between his teeth, while a blonde archer crouches behind him with bow drawn, the two of them tucked against a gnarled tree in what looks like a tense woodland standoff. It's a lively, warmly funny image that captures exactly the chaotic energy Aragonés and Mark Evanier brought to this beloved wandering-barbarian series throughout its run.
