A massive, many-legged spider looms over a field of skulls on this June 1989 cover by Sergio Aragonés, setting an appropriately creepy tone for a story titled "The Araña." Sword in hand, a warrior woman faces the creature while the hapless Groo scrambles nearby — chaos unfolding in Aragonés's wonderfully expressive style. With the full creative team of Aragonés, Mark Evanier, Tom Luth, and Stan Sakai on board, this Epic Comics entry is a fine example of the series at its most entertainingly unhinged.
