Sergio Aragonés Groo the Wanderer #51
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeFifty-one issues in and Sergio Aragonés is still finding delightfully fresh ways to frame his bumbling wanderer — here, Groo's gap-toothed grin peeks out from behind a confident, freckled warrior woman who dominates the foreground, brandishing what appears to be a sea-creature skull while barely acknowledging the fool lurking at her shoulder. It's a wonderfully playful composition that says everything about Groo's knack for inserting himself where he's least welcome. With Aragonés handling both pencils and inks, Mark Evanier co-writing, and Stan Sakai lettering, this May 1989 Epic Comics entry — "The Valley of Mas and Menos" — arrives with the full creative team firing on all cylinders.
