“When Treachery Wore a Green Shirt!”

In "When Treachery Wore a Green Shirt!", Sargon the Sorcerer follows a stolen note through a year-long trail of deceit, leading him to a dizzying trap on a spinning gyroscope rooftop. With Paul Reinman handling the interior art and Harry Peter both penciling and inking the cover, this 1948 classic blends mystery and magic in a suspenseful chase that culminates in a daring escape through a taxidermist’s window.

Max unknowingly passes a note stolen in a bank robbery a year earlier. Sargon takes the note and compels it to give the address of the man who stole it. There, he is captured and tied to a gyroscope on the roof, which spins closer and closer to the edge. But Sargon is in control and smashes it through the window of a taxidermist shop, where the money is hidden.
