“Beware of the Steel Bird”

In "Beware of the Steel Bird," young scientist Collins stumbles upon a terrifying truth: an alien invasion is imminent, signaled by a mysterious fog that puts humanity into a trance. Only Collins, shielded in his lab, escapes the effect—only to be dismissed as mad when he tries to warn the world, even Professor Dobson. The story unfolds with quiet dread, blending scientific mystery and paranoia, all rendered with the distinctive art of Harry Lazarus and the stark cover by Pat Masulli and Dick Giordano.

Collins, a young scientist, discovers through his instruments that an alien invasion is coming. The aliens cause a fog that renders humanity in a trance. Collins is spared because he was in his lead shielded lab at the time. After the fog is dispersed, Collins tries to explain what happened to the other scientists including the respected Professor Dobson. No one believes him and he is institutionalized.
