Stella marries Tom and controls his life: she extends their honeymoon and he’s fired from his job; she chooses the furnishings of their house and his wardrobe over his personal tastes; she buys a fur coat with money he’d saved for a car. He becomes distant and she suspects him of infidelity, which he denies. Their neighbour tells Stella that Tom helps around the house, because her husband left her due to her selfish ways. Stella repents and her marriage is saved.
