The Sheriff puts Miles, Duke and James under arrest and leave Clint and Gladys to take care of the Sheriff's burned brother. Gladys promptly kills the man (a mercy killing as he had third degree burns over 90% of his body) and drugs Clint. The Sheriff is about to chop off James' head for stealing when something lands near the group, scattering them.
