“Summer”

"Summer" in Season of the Witch #2 delivers a gripping chapter in Jessica’s transformation, as she trains under the enigmatic Fox and learns the secrets of the Spell Sword. With Kevin Sharpe’s dynamic art and Jason Embury’s vivid colors, the story unfolds in the defiant heart of Asamando, where Jessica’s growing influence sparks both hope and tension. Darwyn Cooke’s striking cover captures the moment’s intensity, while Jai Nitz’s writing keeps the stakes high—loyalty tested, rebellion rising, and Mazzul’s doubts deepening.

Jessica meets Fox who helps Mazzul train her in the ways of the Spell Sword. She proves to be a quick study and helps the people of Asamando begin to throw off King Elian's yoke of oppression. The king responds by arresting the leaders of the rebellion and even commissions Mazzul to print up posters for Jessica's arrest. Jessica mounts a successful rescue of her captive followers, which endears her to the people even more. Mazzul, however, has grave reservations about her violent solutions to the land's problems.
