In "Spring," Jessica—a lonely high schooler feeling utterly out of place—gets an otherworldly summons to the mystical realm of Asamando, where she’s thrust into a role as a champion for the oppressed Spell Sword people. Under the stern guidance of mentor Mazzul, she begins her training, and after confronting the tyrannical sheriff of King Elian, she finds unexpected purpose among those who need her. Written by Jai Nitz and illustrated by Kevin Sharpe, with colors by Jason Embury and letters by Jason Hanley, the cover by Kevin Sharpe and Jay Leisten captures the story’s haunting, otherworldly tone.
