Scarlet Witch #3
This 1994 Marvel limited series continues its plunge into supernatural menace as Wanda Maximoff — in her signature red costume — struggles desperately while ensnared in a grotesque, web-like organic structure, a massive demonic face looming ominously beneath her. The cover blurb promises she'll be facing demon-forms of fellow Avengers Spider-Woman and War Machine, a genuinely unsettling premise that earns the tagline "A Tale from the Edge of Madness." John Higgins's cover art — both pencils and inks — gives the whole thing an appropriately eerie, visceral texture that makes this installment of the series hard to overlook.
