The Jackal has captured the two spider-heroes to harvest their DNA for more cloning experiments. They break free but they have to fight the giant mutant spiders. In the confusion, Otto starts a fire so that his genetic samples will be destroyed, but the Jackal later learns that he still has Kaine's. After returning to Houston, Kaine finds that his body is starting to break down.
