Savage Avengers #16

Gerry Duggan and artist Patch Zircher's Savage Avengers #16 sends its unruly crew somewhere decidedly more hellish, as the chapter title "Let's Go to Limbo" promises a wild change of scenery. Valerio Giangiordano's cover sets the tone perfectly: a massive, glowing-sigil-emblazoned figure dominates the foreground while Conan the Barbarian — sword drawn and battle-ready — charges alongside Black Widow and a fur-collared, blade-wielding Wolverine through a crumbling, debris-filled ruin. Java Tartaglia's moody purples and smoldering oranges give the whole scene an otherworldly menace that makes this one genuinely hard to put back on the shelf.
