With their shared goal now clear, Kamui and Sugaru set aside their enmity to rescue him. Written by Sanpei Shirato and Horst Schröder, with art by Shirato and Stan Sakai, and lettered by Katarina Lindahl, this gripping tale unfolds across a striking cover by Gōseki Kojima.

Den avfällige ninjan Kamui lämnar Kushikiön för att slippa slåss mera mot Sugaru, hustru till hans räddare Hanbei. Sugaru är också hon avfällig ninja och följer efter Kamui för att döda honom. Hon tror att Kamui är utsänd av hennes gamla ninjaklan för att döda henne. Sugarus dotter Sayaka avbryter striden och berättar att Hanbei har tagits till fånga av samurajer för att ha dödat en adelsmans häst. Kamui och Sugaru sluter fred för att rädda Hanbei.
