Sam and Twitch #9 brings Brian Michael Bendis's gritty crime storytelling to a head with "One Really Bad Day" — a title that promises exactly the kind of tense, street-level drama this series delivers so well. Ashley Wood's moody cover art sets a deeply atmospheric tone, rendered in murky sepia shadows as two figures lurk in a darkened doorway, one training a gun toward a lit window — all dread and noir instinct. Jamie Tolagson handles the interior art, with colors by Jay Fotos rounding out what is clearly one of 2000's more quietly compelling crime comics.
