Sam and Twitch #14

The moody, painterly cover by Ashley Wood sets the tone perfectly for this 2000 Image series — two shadowy figures loom in a dimly lit corridor, separated by darkness in a way that feels equal parts noir and unease. Sam and Twitch has always thrived on that gritty detective atmosphere, and issue #14, "Dumb Laws and Eggs," promises more of the street-level tension that makes this Bendis-written spinoff so compelling. A fine entry in one of Image's most atmospherically charged series of its era.
