This seventh volume of the Rurouni Kenshin manga series continues the Kyoto arc, focusing on the historical assassination of Toshimichi Okubo on May 14, 1878—the 11th year of Meiji—which sets off a chain of events drawing Kenshin back into conflict with his past. The collection includes chapters 53 through 60, as Kenshin and his allies confront the growing threat of Shishio Makoto's forces.
