In "Das Herz des Weltuntergangs," the Legion of Super-Heroes mourns the passing of Chemiekönig on the asteroid graveyard Shangalla, while reserve member Chuck Taine guards the Legion headquarters. A tense misunderstanding with a police officer traps him and Ballonboy in energy bubbles—only for Ballonboy to unexpectedly regain his powers through the strange energy.
