Robin Hood and his companion Dickon infiltrate Glamore Castle, which is held by the evil Sir Gui, by discovering a secret passage hidden behind a wooden lintel. After locating the passage entrance within the castle walls, they attempt to escape with a valuable cofffer lowered on a rope, but guards discover them and sound an alarm. In the ensuing battle at the castle gates, Robin Hood and his allies fight Sir Gui's forces; Robin uses arrows to aid a young serf named Jehan who is pressed against the castle wall, and together they manage to hold off the guards long enough to reach the secret passageway to the postern gate, allowing Robin to escape alive with Jehan.
