“Looking Sharp”

Part of DC's 1993 "Bloodlines: Earthplague" crossover event, this oversized annual throws Robin headlong into the alien invasion — and into a blade-clashing confrontation with a mysterious young woman, both of them dwarfed by a massive, many-clawed green creature with a skull-like maw dripping red behind them. The cover tagline "Razorsharp Cuts In!" hints at the new character joining the fray, rendered with real kinetic energy by penciler Jim Balent and inker Scott Hanna. With Chuck Dixon scripting and the artistic team of Kieron Dwyer and José Luis García-López bringing the interior pages to life, it's a full-value annual that earns its extra page count.
