“The Other Hand”

Robin lies restrained on a gurney, tangled in wires and breathing tubes, as two menacing figures — a smirking hooded villain and a white-clad masked figure — wheel him through what looks like a hospital corridor under the ominous banner "Code: Dead!" The cover by Patrick Gleason and Tom Nguyen puts Tim Drake in an unusually vulnerable position, trading his usual agility for helplessness in a genuinely unsettling image. Adam Beechen and Freddie E. Williams II bring their "The Other Hand" story to issue #165, and if this October 2007 cover is any indication, Robin's situation has never looked more dire.
