“The High Dive”

This January 2007 issue delivers a visceral vertical composition courtesy of cover penciler Patrick Gleason and inker Wayne FaucherRobin plunges headfirst down the face of a Gotham City building, gloved hand outstretched, while a heavily armored opponent tumbles just below him amid the lit windows of an urban nightscape. The story title "The High Dive" couldn't feel more apt given that nerve-testing freefall framed against the brick-and-glass cityscape. Writer Adam Beechen and artist Freddie E. Williams II keep this solo series firing on all cylinders well into its run.
