Rising Sun #4

Volume 4 of Satoshi Fujiwara's Rising Sun puts a battle-hardened female soldier front and center, clad in camouflage fatigues and gripping an assault rifle with an expression that means business. Fujiwara's linework is strikingly detailed, conveying both the weight of the gear and the steely resolve of the character wearing it. If this 2015 Komikku Éditions release is any indication, this military manga delivers serious tension alongside its sharply rendered action.
