Volume 3 of Satoshi Fujiwara's Rising Sun puts its protagonist front and center — arms crossed, expression steely, dressed in full camouflage combat fatigues and a blue JGSDF Ranger beret that signals serious military credentials. The cover's close-up framing gives the soldier an imposing, no-nonsense presence that perfectly captures the series' grounded look at Japan's Self-Defense Forces. If you've been following this military manga from Komikku Éditions, this 2015 volume looks like a worthy continuation of the story.
