Morty is adopted by Father Dagon, living the best family situation he has ever known. Summer becomes the champion of Nyarlathotep. The two siblings do proxy combat for their respective gods. With Beth possessed by Cthulhu, Jerry devoured by the Hounds of Tindalos, and Morty and Summer each fallen in their mutual mortal combat, Rick has finally had enough of Cthulhu's invasion of his reality and takes the fight directly to Lovecraft's ultimate elder god. An unexpected result reveals the reason for Cthulhu's dimensional incursion and offers not one but TWO epilogues in support of the revelation.
