In Innsmouth, Rick was forced by Barnabas Marsh to kill himself by blowing his head off. Morty and Summer are jailed in separate cells. Summer's cellmate is old drunken Zadok Allen who shows her how to reach The Dreamlands via meditation, while Morty is locked up with a mysterious comparably-aged girl named Cathy. Morty and Cathy are intended as virgin sacrifices to the god Dagon. Seeking the obvious way out of their mutual peril fails as Morty is dragged away for the sacrifice before they could "become ineligible". Dagon instead kills Barnabas and adopts Morty as his "...new favorite son".
