Rick and Morty #9
In "The Coming of Auntie Hala!", Rick and Morty find their chaotic adventure upended by the sudden arrival of Auntie Hala—ruler of Anti Hala, aunt to Nunzumel, and unexpected romantic partner to Vultureperson. With every major player in the saga having failed their individual quests, Rick, Morty, Noelle, Nunzumel, Unclefold, Mr. Goldenfold, Platinumfold, and Vronsky each decide to abandon their old worlds and forge a new beginning on The Gray Earth. Written by Alex Firer and brought to life with bold, expressive art by Fred C. Stresing (pencils and inks) and vibrant colors by Andrew Dalhouse, this issue marks a pivotal shift in the series' ongoing odyssey. The cover, also by Fred C. Stresing, captures the moment of Auntie Hala’s dramatic entrance with striking, dynamic flair.

As quickly as the final confrontation between Nunzumel and Vultureperson begins, it is halted by the intervention of Auntie Hala, all-powerful ruler of Anti Hala, aunt of Nunzumel, and romantic partner of Vultureperson. In one way or another, every principal character of this saga save Vultureperson (that being Rick, Morty, Noelle, Nunzumel, Unclefold, Mr. Goldenfold, Platinumfold, and Vronsky) has failed to achieve their various and differing objectives, and each decides to give up and build a new world to make their own. Independently, they each choose "The Gray Earth" and all head for it.
