Richie Rich #93

The cover of this 1970 Harvey Comics issue says it all: Richie Rich watches with wide-eyed delight as a bulldozer (emblazoned with the Rich family "R") pushes an absolutely enormous, glittering mountain of jewels and precious stones spilling out of Vault No. 7. Warren Kremer's linework gives the whole scene a cheerful, almost overwhelming sense of abundance — gems tumbling everywhere, catching the light in every direction. With a story titled "Keeping Fit with Money," this issue promises the kind of charmingly absurd, only-in-Richie-Rich fun that made Harvey Comics a staple of 1970 newsstands.
