Abnett and Lanning's 1997 series continues to find arresting ways to visualize a man perpetually caught between life and death, and Butch Guice's painted cover work here is quietly stunning in its restraint. "Tricks or Treats" promises a story with plenty on its mind about mortality, and this image alone makes a compelling case to pick it up.
