“The Plight of the Bumblebee!”

Reggie and Me #20 brings a delightful superhero spoof to the Archie universe with "The Plight of the Bumblebee!" — and the cover by Bill Vigoda makes the most of it. The villainous Evilheart in his green costume declares "To bee or not to bee!" amid a swarm of bees and a resounding SPLAT, while a flustered museum guard recoils, bee-costumed henchmen lurk in the background, and a caped Pureheart gets a firm warning that "there's room for only one super-hero at a time!" It's a wonderfully chaotic 1966 romp that shows Archie's Riverdale gang could hold their own in the superhero satire game.
