Redcoat #12

Geoff Johns and Bryan Hitch bring their time-spanning saga to its twelfth chapter with a cover that plants the Redcoat himself — wild-eyed in his scarlet coat — squarely in the chaos of what looks like a Civil War battlefield, grappling over a cannon alongside a Union soldier while fire and gunsmoke rage behind them. Hitch's linework (inked here by Hitch himself) captures the gritty physicality of two men from very different eras locked in a tug-of-war over a weapon that could change everything. If you've been following this Image/Ghost Machine series, issue #12 makes a compelling case that the story still has plenty of powder left in the barrel.
