The issue also features a story involving Count Morphine, an ex-bootleg baron whose newspaper headline hunters pursue him, resulting in complications when a man claims to be the Count and gives an interview that misleads the public.
Marked for death by lawmen and criminals alike, the Gay Desperado rides into Graveyard Gulch hoping to clear his name—only to discover that a railroad freight agent has been using him as the perfect fall guy for a dope-smuggling operation. With the noose tightening and double-crosses mounting, Jim and his companion Patsy must find proof of the real killers before midnight catches up with them at the border.
