The cover by penciler Giuseppe Camuncoli and inker Cam Smith says it all: Red Hood and Artemis look up — and slightly sideways at each other — as an unmistakable Superman-symbol fills the frame above them, its wearer crashing through a surge of green, foamy energy. The deadpan exchange in the speech bubbles ("Friend of yours?" / "I thought he was with you!") perfectly captures the uneasy, wisecracking dynamic at the heart of this DC Universe Rebirth series. With Scott Lobdell writing, Dexter Soy on art, and Veronica Gandini's vivid colors, issue #3 of this 2016 run looks like exactly the kind of chaotic team-up that keeps readers coming back.
