Red Herring #3

The third issue of WildStorm's espionage thriller Red Herring lands with a cover by Philip Bond that captures the series' tense, darkly comic tone perfectly — a wide-eyed man with spiky red hair presses a dark-haired woman against a wall while a gun looms ominously in the foreground, both figures radiating barely-contained panic. Newsarama's pull quote calling it "a top-notch sly and sexy story" feels entirely earned from the evidence on display. With David Tischman's writing backed by the art team of Bond and David Hahn, this December 2009 issue is exactly the kind of smart, stylish thriller WildStorm did so well.
