Rat Queens #8

Three members of the Rat Queens hurtle through a fiery, explosive landscape atop what looks like a massive stone orb — one tumbling upside-down with wide, alarmed eyes while her companions brace themselves with varying degrees of composure. Looming behind them, rendered in ghostly white against the blazing orange sky, is an enormous spectral rat that makes the title feel delightfully on-the-nose. Owen Gieni's linework and colors bring a gleeful, kinetic energy to issue #8 that captures exactly why Kurtis J. Wiebe's rowdy fantasy crew keeps readers coming back.
