Quicksilver and the Knights catch up with the High Evolutionary in the Savage Land but discover that he is using Isotope E to keep himself from reverting to primate form. Our heroes are attacked by the combined forces of the Acolytes and a band of heroes suffering from the Legacy Virus who have come to collect the isotope for Exodus. Quicksilver and the Knights escape with the High Evolutionary and his isotope but, unbeknownst to his fellows, Anon kills Churchill during the getaway. With their mission a failure, the Acolytes strand the sick mutants in the Savage Land as they teleport home.
