Scott Kurtz's PvP: Player vs. Player #8 from Image Comics promises big drama with its subtitle "The Death of Brent Sienna" splashed boldly across the cover. A distressed, round-faced character in a white shirt and purple pants shouts "WHY?" to the heavens, fist raised, while two wide-eyed creatures cling to him from below — the whole scene jumping off a stark black background with real comic energy. It's a wonderfully melodramatic snapshot of Kurtz's gamer-culture humor at its most theatrical.
