Punisher War Journal #11
Tied to Marvel's 2007 "The Initiative" event, Punisher War Journal #11 finds Frank Castle in a striking Captain America–styled costume — skull emblem and star-spangled armor combined into something unsettling — crouching in the foreground while a masked, gun-toting figure looms behind him. Ariel Olivetti's cover art gives the whole image a cool, painted tension that makes the uneasy pairing of patriotism and Frank's brand of justice feel genuinely thought-provoking. With Matt Fraction writing and Leandro Fernández on interior art, this is a strong entry in a run that wasn't afraid to put the Punisher in ideologically complicated territory.
