“..and It Whispered...and It Wept...and It Did Shudder...and It Did Die...”

In 1881, Harlowe (an old man in a wheelchair) lives in an old mansion in a swamp where he holds sway over the locals using voodoo. When Edwin, a friend of Harlowe's son Eldridge visits the mansion, he becomes smitten with Harlowe's daughter. When she runs away and sinks to her death in the swamp, Harlowe blames Edwin and uses voodoo to drive him into the swamp. Meanwhile the locals use voodoo to bring him back to life where he kills Eldridge. While Harlowe is able to drive him into the swamp again, the locals are able to kill Harlowe. Free of his voodoo, they flee the now burning mansion.
