Prophet #38 pulls you straight into its strange, far-future atmosphere with a cover by Jim Rugg that is quietly mesmerizing: a lone figure in a red suit, knife in hand, stands before a vast triangular void filled with swirling cosmic geometry — a serpentine ribbon of light, floating spheres, crystalline shapes, and drifting cubes. The scale and abstraction give the image a genuinely otherworldly weight, hinting at the kaleidoscopic weirdness that Brandon Graham, Simon Roy, and Giannis Milonogiannis brought to this 2013 run.
