Emma Ríos's linework gives the scene an almost mythic weight — windswept feathers, scattered small butterflies drifting upward, and Jordie Bellaire's warm, dusty palette lending the whole image a dreamlike melancholy. Kelly Sue DeConnick and company's western-folklore epic continues with an issue whose cover alone feels like a folk ballad made visible.
